Once the first coating is poured in to the floor, you will need to wait 4-12vhours in order to pour another epoxy mixture again. This is to make sure that the first epoxy coating has already hardened enough. The process of putting epoxy on the floor is very tricky and it needs skills. This is why we do not advise you to do the process on your own. It needs professional skills as well as the right equipment to ensure that the epoxy is installed in the right way.  

In addition, the formula does always affect the performance of the epoxy on your floor. Take note that the amount of hardener or the ration of the mixture can either create a strong epoxy surface or not. Some people use DIY epoxy for their floor. This is far different from the read epoxy formula that is used by the professionals or companies. The former only uses epoxy resin with no hardener and relies on evaporation to hardened. The problem with this is although it has hardened, the epoxy resin does not provide the same qualities and features that are found in epoxy mixture used by the companies. It may even break when it absorbs some shocks coming from the surface of the floor. This is why opting for the right formula and letting the experts do it is the best idea. DIYs are only for small epoxy resin art projects and not for floorings. 

Different formulations would result into different epoxy floor characteristics, with some floor able to withstand extreme heat, moisture, or even chemicals.
